Every possible outdoor and sporting activity abounds.
While Moraira embraces its image as a more peaceful destination, be assured that you will never be short of something to do.
If Benidorm isn’t your thing you’ll probably fall in love with Moraira.
Word to the wise, your own wheels will enhance your enjoyment of Moraira and the surrounding area.

HOTELS
All hotels can be a bit of a treat. Where else do you get shampoo, bodywash, a toweling dressing gown and at least 2 towels. You can lie in bed and flick between 30 channels.
Every day room service comes in and tidies you up. Even the most meagre can feel like heaven. Here are a few in Moraira that are a long way ahead of meagre.
Caballito de Mar. If relaxing or "dolce far niente" is your thing then you will find Caballito de Mar the ideal spot. La Sort Boutique Hotel is set on the seafront in central Moraira and offers elegant, modern rooms with free wifi. It features an on-site restaurant with a great terrace. Hotel Swiss Moraira is surrounded by green countryside and provides elegant and stylish accommodation just 5 minutes' drive from the beach. The hotel features an outdoor pool and terrace. Hotel Villa Venecia Boutique Gourmet. Each room is a different experience, an authentic atmosphere with elements of the main towns of this region. Pity they don’t offer a tour of the area by offering a stay in 14 different rooms, one on each night of your holiday. Casa Andamar Not the greatest location but has the advantage of free parking. Also it’s pet friendly. Really, do people take their pet on holiday? No but people remodelling a home they’ve just purchased may. Hotel Buigues - this is a very central hotel overlooking the marina. Boutique Hotel La Madrugada, A country house that was formerly Sarah Brightman’s home is now an exclusive hotel. Swimming pool, sauna tennis court, but you will need a car. Singing “Phantom of the Opera” in the shower is definitely de trop. Cases Noves in Guadalest. Way up in the mountains. Whether you are looking for peace, luxury, good food or just a base for mountain hiking this hotel hits the spot!

BEACH BARS
When I was younger I very definitely got the attraction of beach bars with their pulsating life and scantily clad girls. 👙
Now I feel more at home in the American bar at the Negresco In Nice, sipping a strawberry daiquiri and enjoying a conversation with a sophisticated, intelligent young woman.
Regrettably age has forced me to accept that I have become “a fully paid up member of the look don’t touch club”. We live in the age of generation Woke.
Nevertheless I cannot deny that a Spanish white sand beach with no beach bars would be equivalent to a sea with no ships but don’t worry Moraira has many and enough for you to choose your favourite and make it your “go to”: –
Bar La Cabana Moraira, On the beach! Their slogan is “Bringing Ibiza to Moraira”. Which part of Ibiza you might ask in horror! Algas L'Andrago. Right by the sea, Algas gets rave reviews for its great views and ambience. Restaurante Les Bretonnes Beach. A great place to top up the labido with a plate of oysters. Restaurante El Chamizo, More fine dining by the sea. Royal Beach Club. Great atmosphere and staff.
WALKS
The Spanish call hiking “Senderismo, which even you and I will be obliged to concede makes the exercise sound considerably more enticing, relaxing even.
Now then, if you are in the mood and ready, why not take up the challenge and try one of the more famous routes below. Be sure to take plenty of water: –

ACTIVITIES AQUATIC & OTHERS
MARINAS & YACHT SERVICES
Ah yes, Moraira has certainly got my attention. A day cruising coastal Spanish mediterranean with a cooling libation to hand is much more my thing than buzzing about on a Jet Ski.
I know yachtsmen, who would gladly discourage them with a shotgun; disturbing the peace and tranquility of nature, don’t you know! Aren’t there laws about disturbing the peace?
It gives me pleasure to confirm that in Moraira aquatic sports are mainly of the kind that are a lifestyle rather than a transitory thrill: –
- Club Náutico Moraira – the marina and yacht club associated with Moraira port and Marina. This is a substantial marina with 650 berths, services provided include fuel, water, electricity, changing rooms, shop, sailing school and lift out facilities. There is also a bar and restaurant. Max Length 30m, max draught 7m. Radio VHF 9.
- Playa de Portet is a small beach for swimming with a few small boats for hire.
GOLF
I really don’t need to tell you about golf. The golfers among you will either know about it by reputation or experience. Suffice it to say that a golf holiday on the Costa Blanca is equivalent to a pilgrimage to Mecca or Lourdes.
Follow the link below for our separate post for Costa Blanca Golf.
Club de Golf Ifach, Beautiful golf course with exceptional views and fine clubhouse.
Club facilities include a pro shop, golf academy and tennis courts but dare you risk leaving your girlfriend with the tennis coach?
La Sella is based within La Sella golf resort and spa. It offers 3 very different 9 hole
courses - their academy provides on course individual or group lessons.
Club de Golf Oliva Nova. This golf complex boasts a hotel, villas, a spa and fitness centre and for the gourmets, or is that gourmands amongst you who enjoy food as
much as golf there is a very fine restaurant.
Club de VillaitanaGolf Javea. Two 4 and 5 stars hotels, 2 golf courses, swimming pools, restaurants, spa and sports facilities make this unique resort. No complaints from your other half there's plenty of distractions to keep her busy too.
EQUESTRIAN
Perhaps not what you had in mind when you told friends that you were going to Spain but who knows it could be fun and a great way to see the countryside: –
Club Hipico Benissa. A team of qualified instructors give lessons on fine Spanish horses to riders of all levels of ability, novices, show jumping and dressage

Hipica Ondara offers lessons, treks, jumping, dressage, carriage driving and more for all levels from age 6 years. Spanish, English, Valenciano and German are spoken.
WATER SPORTS AND SCUBA DIVING
You don’t have to look too far to find the expected range of seaside mayhem in, on and under the water. and how deep can you dive? It all depends on your level of experience and the depths of your pocket: –
- Tsunami jet ski, water-sports, quads & paintball offer quad biking, parasailing, paramotor, kayaking, paintball and sailing lessons.
- Mar Oceano Water Sports offer water-sports & sailing school and can be found in the Moraira Nautico Club and here you can rent SUP boards and kayaks to paddle along the beautiful coves of Moraira.
- Centro de Buceo La Galera is a Diving Centre located in Moraira and the Centre offers diving courses, as well as snorkelling trips.
- Scuba Moraira – the centre and shop is located on the Moraira-Calpe coast road where you can also find a range of scuba diving, snorkelling & swimming equipment.
MORAIRA NIGHTLIFE
RESTAURANTS
Suckling pig, suckling lamb are a Spanish delicacy that are too good to miss. On holiday in Majorca a friend and I decided that we could not go another day without partaking. Our respective partners berated us for our cruelty, so we left them behind.
Upon our return at one in the morning we found a note to tell us that they had legged it to a leading night spot. Predictably we got back in the car and pursued them.
We arrived to find that they had found their way onto the highest podium and were entertaining the other clubbers. Getting them down was a challenge; it did not meet with their, or universal approval!
So be warned bad behaviour can reap a humiliating revenge. On balance the suckling pig was worth it!
- Sand Restaurant is located in the Boutique Hotel La Sort and serves modern European and food. The shoulder of suckling lamb is mouth watering.
- Restaurante Dgust – This restaurant serves nouvelle cuisine while maintaining faith with the traditional regional recipes. Ambitious but almost true!
- Restaurante Le Dauphin – is directly adjacent to the beach and resonates a Provencal mediterranean style, albeit on the kitsch side. From your table on the terrace there is a magnificent view across the water to the Peñón de Ifach.
- Restaurante Piscis – The home of seafood in moraira. When it’s not in the sea, of course!
- Atmosphera Restaurant – This excellent restaurant also provides takeaway.
SHOWS
Moraira may not be the world’s cultural capital but it does have some diversions worthy of note. Don’t be put off by Spanish devotion to religion as the basis for a festival. They can be spectacular and very worthwhile; after all worship is not confined to churches!. So get on down and have a Kiki: –
AUDITORI TEULADA MORAIRA - tel: 965 740445 - shows change regularly so check their programme. CARELINE THEATRE - presents regular plays and productions. SEMANA SANTA - (or Holy Week) is the name for easter week in Spain. This is a culturally and religiously important event, celebrated across Spain with processions that depict "The Passion of the Christ". MORAIRA MUSIC FESTIVAL - Calle Castillo - an annual event, which normally takes place in June. FESTES SANT JAUME - at Benimarco during July and involves food, drink, live music, holy mass, fireworks, bull running and other activities.
